PFAD is a high-value co-product of palm oil refining. Captured during the deodorisation stage, it carries a high free fatty acid content that makes it the preferred feedstock for soap manufacturing, animal feed concentrates, oleochemical production, and (increasingly) industrial biofuels.

What PFAD Contains
Captured during the deodorisation stage of physical refining, PFAD is composed of free fatty acids, glycerides, squalene, Vitamin E, sterols, and other substances; that composition is what makes it valuable across several industries.
