Why Refining Changes Everything
Nigeria exports enormous volumes of crude palm oil, and it imports enormous volumes of refined palm oil derivatives, paying a premium for processing that could be done domestically. This is not a market inefficiency. It is a capital allocation failure: the infrastructure was never built.
The consequence is that Nigerian agro-processors consistently sell at the bottom of the palm oil value chain, while the margin-rich middle layers of refining, fractionation, and derivative production are captured elsewhere. Idomit Agro is building the capacity to change that.

From Crude to High-Value Derivatives
| Palm Olein | The liquid fraction of refined palm oil, and the dominant cooking and frying oil globally. It is used in retail cooking oil, food service, and packaged food manufacturing, and commands a significant price premium over CPO. |

The Isiun Refinery: Phase 2
200 MT/Day Integrated Refinery · Isiun, Ogun State
Phase 2 of the Isiun development integrates a full CPO refinery directly adjacent to the Phase 1 storage hub. The co-location of storage and refining on the same four-hectare site eliminates logistics cost and quality risk, and allows Idomit to offer buyers a fully traceable, single-source supply chain from incoming crude to outgoing refined product.

Quality Standards That Drive Buyer Confidence
Our refinery design is built around the parameters that determine acceptance or rejection at point of sale: FFA content below 0.1% in RBD product; 3-MCPD and Glycidyl Ester (GE) control managed through low-FFA feedstock and optimised refining temperatures; Dobi index and lovibond colour standards for food-grade buyers; and moisture and impurity testing at intake, during processing, and at dispatch. Our standards are set by the markets we sell into.
The Strategic Case: Indonesia’s Lesson for Nigeria
Indonesia legally mandated domestic refining capacity in the 1990s as a national economic strategy. Today, less than 10% of Indonesian palm oil leaves as raw crude; the balance is exported as refined derivatives and oleochemicals, generating significantly higher foreign exchange per tonne. Nigeria has the raw material base to replicate this model, but it lacks the industrial infrastructure. Idomit’s refinery investment is a direct response to that gap.
